When it comes to female vocalists, critics currently fawn over Feist, Imogean Heap and Amy Whinehouse - Id' like to offer a few alternatives that I personally find to be much better at the art than the aformentioned, and who still don't have record deals.
1. Ingrid Michaelson - red-headed, New York gypsy pop. Try to not be charmed - I dare you.
2. Meiko - small town Georgia turned LA waitress trying to make it as a singer.
