Two true stories about the unshakeable sense of reason that children possess. These completely unrelated incidents happened within an hour of eachother today.
1) In a shooverhear I overhear an 8 year-old try to convince his mom to buy him hiking boots.
"Where will you wear those?" she asks.
"Fishing," he responds matter of factly.
Mom, increduously: "You have never fished before."
2) I inadvertently notice a 5 year-old boy peeing on a tree at the park. He thinks he is sly. But he is also honest. As soon as he buttons up, he heads directly to his mom who is lounging on a nearby blanket.
"Mom. I just went number one behind a tree."
Mom is shocked. "Why?"
"Because I really had to go."
